The awarding was in time for the celebration of the Philippine Environment Month this June and the 35th founding anniversary of the department.

Chief Ancie L. Lawenko of DENR 5 Regional Strategic Communication and Initiatives Office said at the Ugnayan briefing that the celebration centered on the restoration of the planet Earth.
With "Aksyon Para sa Natatanging Mundo" for the theme, the national celebration also highlighted the #OnlyOneEarth campaign for the World Environment Day 2022.
It aimed to strengthen the efforts toward the protection and sustainable use of natural resources through activities that call for collective and transformative action for the protection of the Earth.
Today, around 800 Bicolanos participated in the nationwide simultaneous tree-planting activity in San Francisco, Legazpi City. Narra-species were planted in order to thicken the forest covers. This served as the official start of the celebration. (PIA5)
