Bauko LGU aims for more  efficient  service thru iBPLS

BAUKO. Mountain Province (PIA)--The local government of Bauko aims for more efficient government service thru the Integrated Business Permit and Licensing System (iBPLS).

The Department of Information and Communications Technology (DICT) in partnership with the Department of Trade and Industry, Department of the Interior and  LGU Bauko launched  iBPLS here last  June 8.

The iBPLS is an online application software developed by the DICT that helpsLGUs to expedite the processing and issuance of business permits, building permits, certificates of occupancy, and barangay clearance.

Mayor Abraham B. Akilit undercored the importance of having the iBPLS in their LGU.

“The introduction of Integrated Business Permit and Licensing System in Bauko is a move to systematize the processing of our constituents’ business license. It also means that we are introducing them to a speedy, reliable, and efficient service that will benefit all of us since it will also promote proper data and file management for users. It may even encourage business people to register their businesses as the process of this IBPLS is quicker, reliable and easier,” he said.

DICT OIC Regional Director Engr. Rey M. Parnacio, in a video message, congratulated LGU-Bauko’s willingness to use the system which indicates its support for good governance.

“I salute the Bauko LGU officials for their interest in adopting the DICT’s Integrated Business Permit and Licensing System. This indicates how you are serious about providing good governance to your constituents,” he stated.

Parnacio   said the DICT’s iBPLS is beyond compliance to Republic Act 11032, also known as the Ease of Doing Business and Efficient Government Service Delivery Act.

“We are doing this to enable government services to be more efficient, transparent and accessible. Through iBPLS, processes can be cut down making turn-around time way faster that the manual process while corruption can also be lessened as the application process is very transparent to the system.”

DTI Provincial Director Mabel F. Banggawan, represented by Fhely D. Membrere, praised LGU Bauko for being the second municipality in the province after Bontoc to adopt the iBPLS. This system, she said, will be of great help to business owners and shall eventually lead to a more economically stable business environment for Bauko.

“Moving forward, with the adaption of electronic means of registration, intensified monitoring and validation activities are expected on our end. We, the Department of Trade and Industry, your partners in developing businesses and empowering consumers alike, would be very happy to continue working with you in the attainment of a better, more economically stable business environment for Bauko,” she said.

For its valuable effort and support, Bauko LGU awarded a plaque of appreciation   to DICT and received by DICT Provincial Officer Hermie Castaneda. (JDP/VJLT-PIA CAR Mt. Province)
