TUGUEGARAO CITY, Cagayan (PIA) – With the increasing production of cacao from farmers in the province and as one of the readily available raw materials for food preparation, the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) is inviting Cagayanos to show their innovative minds.
With cacao as its based-material for the Cagayano Innovative Cook Show on June 24 as part of the Provincial Government’s Aggao Nac Cagayan celebration, this is open to all Cagayanos residing in the province where participant/s can be individual or team and needs to pre-register online until June 20, 2022.
The 10 participants which will be short-listed based on innovation and originality will prepare their main dish during the contest proper at the Cagayan State University – Carig Campus.

Outputs will be rated based on innovation and originality, overall acceptability, value for money, food preparation and safety/sanitation and presentation.
The champion will receive P15,000.00 while P10,000.00 and P5,000.00 for the first and second runner ups, respectively.
Regional Director Leah Pulido Ocampo said series of seminars and business opportunities have been offered and conducted to cacao farmers and stakeholders in the region.
DTI has also provided support to cacao processors in the province through their Shared Service Facility program.
DTI through its Padday na Lima Trade Fair will join other municipalities and regional line agencies during the Aggao Nac Cagayan week-long trade fair at Robinsons Mall Tuguegarao.
The Department of Agriculture also provided support such as linkage in the promotion and commercialization of matured technologies to include the cacao products of CSU and cacao processing of Isabela State University. (GVB/PIA-Cagayan)
