DOLE records 68 HOTS at Independence Day job fair in Dagupan City

DAGUPAN CITY, June 14 (PIA) – Sixty-eight out of the 647 applicants were hired on the spot (HOTS) during the Philippine Independence Day job fair organized by the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE), through its Central Pangasinan Field Office, on Sunday at the Nepo Mall  here.
 
Over 2,000 jobs were offered by 20 local and two overseas employers who participated in the job fair.
 
The job fair also included a One-Stop-Shop where applicants and mall goers availed of government services or assistance.
 
Participating agencies were the Department of Migrant Workers, Department of Trade and Industry, Overseas Workers Welfare Administration, Pag-IBIG Fund, Regional Tripartite Wages and Productivity Board, and Technical Education and Skills Development Authority.

Agnes Aguinaldo, head of DOLE-Central Pangasinan Field Office, said the activity is a collaboration between the government and the private sector to provide decent employment to Pangasinenses.
 
She thanked the agency’s partners such as Nepo Mall Dagupan, City Government of Dagupan through the Public Employment Service Office (PESO), employers, government agencies who participated in the One-Stop-Shop, DOLE and PESO employees, and the media for the success of the event.
 
The management of host Nepo Mall also took pride in holding the activity saying employment prompts economic activities.

Nepo Mall manager Walurich Dacanay said, “To ease the burdens of our job seeking populace, our partners in Nepo Mall management hope that this job fair in one way or the other would be able to help you.”
 
“Nepo Mall Dagupan has a mission and that is to be a catalyst for the economy of the community that it serves. It is our hope to continue in the role of fostering the job search matching process for the residents and companies in our community,” she said.
 
This year’s 124th anniversary of the proclamation of Philippine Independence in anchored on the theme, “Kalayaan 2022: Pagsuong sa Hamon ng Panibagong Bukas” (Rise Towards the Challenge of a New Beginning) which aptly calls on all Filipinos to embrace the coming changes. (JCR/AMB/PIA Pangasinan)
