TUGUEGARAO CITY, Cagayan (PIA) - - The Department of Science and Technology (DOST) Region 2 bagged Second Place in the 2022 DOST Gender and Development (GAD) Mainstreaming Awards for DOST Regional Office Category.

The award is “in recognition of its significant efforts in pursuing gender-responsive S&T programs, projects, and activities to promote gender equality and women empowerment within their organization and among its clientele”.

In 2020, DOST-2 placed third in the same category and was inspired to further intensify its GAD initiatives and implementation in the following years, paving the way to a higher award this year.

Spearheaded by DOST Secretary Prof. Fortunato T. de la Pena, together with Undersecretary for Regional operation Engr. Sancho A. Mabborang, the said award was received by DOST-2 Regional Director Virginia G. Bilgera and ARD-TOS Dr. Teresita A. Tabaog. (DOST Press release)
