Govt agencies converge in Abra town, serve 600 residents

BANGUED, Abra (PIA) - - Some 600 residents of barangay Poblacion in Pilar recently benefitted from the convergence efforts of government agencies.


With the  theme, “Pagkakaisa ng Mamamayan at Pamahalaan Tungo sa Pagbangon, Kapayapaan at Kaunlaran”, the event organized by the Philippine National Police (PNP) in coordination with the Department of the  Interior and Local Government,  offered  services  such as  medical-dental, drug test, application of license to own and posses firearm, free haircut, circumcision, massage therapy, legal assistance, and PhilSys ID registration.


Food packs, used clothing, dental and hygiene kit, slippers, and goodies/pastries including information materials from various agencies were also distributed.


In his message, Police Regional Office Director PBGen Ronald O. Lee said that   government services    being brought closer to the community is wholehearted effort to serve the townsfolk.


“This is what they call “bayanihan” because we have various government agencies here to give you services. You do not have to go to their offices instead we are here in your town to bring these services closer to you,” Lee said.


DILG Provincial Director Millicent Cariño, meanwhile, presented the various programs of their office which contributed to the achievement of the Duterte's thrusts to fight criminality, drugs, and corruption, and in ending local communist armed conflict.


The event was also participated by the Department of Social Welfare and Development, Dept. t of Environment and Natural Resources, Dept.  of Labor and Employment, Bureau of Fire Protection, Bureau of Internal Revenue, National Tobacco Authority, National Commission on Indigenous Peoples, Philippine Statistics Authority, Technical Education and Skills Development Authority, PIA,  Philippine Army,  and local governments and the community.  (JDP/SCA-PIA CAR, Abra)
