DOLE conducts payout for over 300 TUPAD workers in Saguday town

CABARROGUIS, Quirino (PIA) - - Some 383 workers under the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) - Tulong Panghanapbuhay sa Ating Disadvantaged/Displaced Workers (TUPAD) program from various barangays of Saguday had already received their payment in a payout conducted by the DOLE-Quirino Field Office.

Provincial Director Laura B. Diciano in her message during the TUPAD payout in Saguday.

Provincial Director Laura Diciano advised the beneficiaries to use their money in providing for the needs of their families.

Each beneficiary received P3,700 for rendering 10 days of work involving cleaning public spaces and gardening-related tasks.

Diciano said the succeeding beneficiaries will soon receive P400 per day or P4,000 for 10 days as a result of the wage hike which took effect last June 8, 2022.

“The recent wage hike has been implemented after a series of public consultations and a public hearing led by the Regional Tripartite and Wage Productivity Board,” Diciano said.

The provincial director in an earlier interview said the government must set an example in implementing Wage Order no. 21 which mandates employers in the private sector to give P30 wage increase effective June 8, 2022 and another P20 effective January 1, 2023.

The pay-out was conducted by the DOLE-QFO in partnership with LGU Saguday and its Public Employment Service Office.

It was also attended by Provincial Director Diciano who represented Regional Director Joel M. Gonzales, Outgoing Mayor Marcelina Pagbilao, Incoming Mayor Jerry Pagbilao, and PESO Manager William Bill Doria. (MDCT/TCB/with reports from Ralph John Wilmer D. Dollaga of DOLE-QFO/PIA Quirino)
