CITY OF TABUK, Kalinga (PIA) -- Barangay Dagupan Centro, the Tabuk city’s premiere barangay, is the Cordillera region’s bet to the 2022 national Lupong Tagapamayapa Incentive Awards (LTIA) under the Component City category.

Sharing their lupon's best practices, Punong Barangay of Dagupan Centro George Esteras,  said  they resolve complaints efficiently.all Cases filed before the Barangay Lupong Tagapamayapa are resolved promptly.There were no pending cases left during the period, he said.

According to Esteras, they do not waste time in  working to resolve the complaints  like immediately  holding discussion with both parties even before the hearings begin so that they can already have solution or settlement by the first  hearing. Moreover, the barangay  LTIA does not not tolerate  hefty  fines  usually demanded by the aggrieved party.  It  imposes fair settlements keeping away the practice of exorbitant demands.

Case resolutions are always accepted by both parties, Esteras said

City Local Government Operations Officer Gemma Bawanta said because of  its  impressive  performance record, Dagupan Centro has is consistently being  nominated   and  has already  won  some awards.

The LTIA was established in 1997 to strengthen the Katarungang Pambarangay as a community based justice system in resolving conflicts.(JDP/LL-PIA CAR, Kalinga)
