PROCor conducts medical-dental cum peace consultation in Sadanga

SADANGA, Mountain Province(PIA)--The Cordillera Police Regional Office(PROCOR),in partnership with the Mountain Province Police Provincial Office and the local government unit of Sadanga,  conducted a medical-dental circumcision cum barangay peace and order consultation at barangay Betwagan last  June 11.

Four hundred thirty four i-Betwagans availed of the services offered by the PNP wherein 125 benefitted from dental services, 158  had  medical check-up, and 43 were  circumcised. There were also 108 who availed of free haircut  from the MPPPO Pulis Pukis Team.

Also distributed to the residents were  108 bottles of vitamins for children from One Pharma, 200 pairs of slippers from Maezelle Diagnostic Center, 100 coffee seedlings from the  Office of the Provincial Agriculture,  and 400 pairs of farming gloves from  PROCOR Director PBGen.  Ronald Lee.

Simultaneous with the medical and dental mission was a peace and order consultation with the elders, barangays officials and residents. Among the concerns discussed is the ongoing dispute of land rights between Betwagan and Butbut in Tinglayan, Kalinga.

Lee iterated that the PNP desires lasting peace among the communities, so the PNP is acting as go-between for the two tribes to settle their   boundary dispute, thus,  the consultation to get more inputs from the people.

It can be recalled that the PRO-COr started brokering dialogues between the two parties two years ago in efforts to   restore peace to save lives and avoid destruction of properties, and for harmonious co-existence.

Lee assured the community members that the PNP is doing everything for the peaceful resolution of the problem.
