Three Quirino towns pass chid-friendly audit

CABARROGUIS, Quirino (PIA) - - The Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) provincial office announced that three of the six municipal Local Government Units (LGUs) here passed the 2019 Child-Friendly Local Governance Audit (CFLGA), namely, Nagtipunan, Maddela and Saguday.

The CFLGA is a result-based assessment tool and an annual mandatory audit designed to gauge the level of performance of LGUs insofar as implementing programs and instituting measures to uplift the welfare status of children.

It can be recalled that the six LGUs were evaluated using the indicators such as Child Survival, Development, Protection, Participation, and Governance, as well as LGUs' overall performance in implementing child-friendly policies, programs, projects, and services.

The three LGUs will be conferred with the Seal of Child-Friendly Local Governance (SCFLG) by the Council for the Welfare of Children (CWC) Board.

Based on the DILG website, the audit-generated data and results will be used by all LGUs and concerned government agencies to identify strengths and opportunities for ensuring and upholding children's rights in relation to local governance in the country.

The Provincial Inter-Agency Monitoring Task Force or audit team was composed of DILG Provincial Director Salvacion Z. Baccay; Lilibeth A. Sampaga from the Provincial Social Welfare and Development Office (PSWDO); Daniphine A. Badua from the Provincial Planning and Development Office (PPDO); Clavelina S. Tolbe from the Provincial Health Office (PHO); and, Filemon V. Ranchez, President of the Federation of Senior Citizens, representing the Civil Society Organization (CSO) sector.
