BAUKO, Mountain Province (PIA) - -The Mountain Province Police Provincial Office conducted an  information education  drive and  feeding activity  to  learners  of the  Bagnen Oriente Elementary School in this municipality  on  Tuesday, June 14.

Staff Sergeant Gabriel A. Potpoten of the Bauko Municipal Police Station gave lecture on anti-drug abuse,  the  negative effects of using drugs, and how in using such substance will destroy lives. 

Potpoten also discussed child abuse  and its different types  such as  physical, sexual,  neglect, and emotional or psychological abuse.  He expounded on  bullying as a form of emotional abuse.  Child abuse of whatever king  affects the life of the victim. 

He  encouraged  learners that whenever they experience any form of  the  child abuse discussed, to immediately tell their teacher or report it to the officials for immediate action.

PEMS Fred Palague of the Highway Patrol Group , meanwhile, discussed road safety wherein he expounded the importance of wearing helmet and seatbelt, as well as of using the pedestrian lane. He also reminded the learners to always stay alert especially when walking on the road especially that roads in the barangay have curves and turns.

Provincial Director Ruben B. Andiso also shared a story of a pencil relating it to the lives of the students.

Pencil and pad papers were also distributed to the pupils.

After the IEC drive, the 155 learners lined up for the feeding activity  where fried chicken, lugaw and Yakult were served .

Bagnen Oriente ES Principal Gunita S. Ducay expressed her heartfelt gratitude to the men and women in uniform in the province for bringing their services to the school. (JDP/VJLT-PIA CAR, Mt. Province)
