All set for the weeklong Aggao Nac Cagayan trade fair

TUGUEGARAO CITY, Cagayan, (PIA) –  Aggao Na Cagayan or the 439th Founding Anniversary of the province of Cagayan this year will highlight Cagayano Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) products through the weeklong Aggao Nac Cagayan Padday na Lima Trade Fair at the Robinson's Mall, this city from June 23 to July 3, 2022.

Atty. Mabel Mamba, the chairperson of the Aggao Nac Cagayan, said through the partnership of the Provincial Government of Cagayan through Gov. Manuel Mamba and Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) Regional Director Leah Pulido Ocampo the trade fair will provide avenues for Cagayano products to hit not only the local but even the international markets.

Director Ocampo, during the previous conduct of the Padday na Lima, said Cagayan’s products are very competitive but DTI together with partner agencies and stakeholders will not stop to provide technical assistance so that their products will become globally competitive.

The weeklong trade fair will also feature products like cacao and coffee, “kakanin” or native delicacies, and the famous longganisa.

The Cagayan Cacao and Coffee Festival will be staged on the second day in which a cooking show using cacao-based products will be featured.

DTI Cagayan facebook page will also do live selling of Cagayan’s products as an innovative way to market and promote Cagayan’s best selling products.

Other parts of the fair are the fruit carving and local dish exhibit featuring Enrile town’s famous buko pie, also the cacao and coffee products of Ate Edith’s food products of Penablanca; Cat’s Food Products of Tuao, and the Kilkiling Upland Framer’s Cooperative of Claveria.

There will also be an Art Gallery with demonstration and Art Clinics featuring Cagayan’s local artists.

Part of the fair will be the Cagayan Authors and Writers Summit where writers and publishers will convene and learn more from the invited speakers.

There will also be demonstrations of known products in the province like the “Bakong” weaving of Sta. Teresita, ChichaRice of Amulung, the sugarcane juice extract of Mabuhay Agri-Coop Multi-purpose Cooperative of Piat, and Sarakat Embroidery/Weaving of the Sarakat Women Weavers Association of Sta. Praxedes.

Mall-goers are invited to visit the upper ground level activity area of Robinsons Place to discover Cagayan’s best products which manifest the creativity and ingenuity of the Cagayano’s hands. (OTB/GVB/PIA-Cagayan)
