Sibugay MSMEs finish DTI business mentorship; Batch 2 now open

IPIL, Zamboanga Sibugay, June 27 (PIA) – Twelve promising micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) in the province underwent a free coaching program to scale up their businesses under the Department of Trade and Industry’s (DTI) Kapatid Mentor ME-Money Market Encounter (KMME-MME) Online Mentorship Program. 

The 12 mentees form part of the total 48 mentees from across the  Zamboanga Peninsula region.

“Itong 48 mentees ay parte ng Batch 1 for KMEE 2022, bago lang nila natapos ang programa and recently graduated virtually,” Bryan Sue Berberio, KMEE program coordinator of DTI Sibugay said.

He said that the 11-module mentorship program optimizes virtual interactions between the mentors and mentees with the end goal of boosting the entrepreneurial capacity through improved access to Mentorship, Money, and Market.

The 10-week-long mentorship sessions of KMME virtual classes are held every Tuesdays and Thursdays from 1:00 to 5:00 in the afternoon.

“Para rin silang nagtapos ng Master in Business Administration (MBA),” Berberio remarked.

He said the KMME emerges mentees to an intensive business development sessions.

After which, the latter are required to prepare a Business Improvement Plan (BIP) for their respective businesses and present it before a panel for evaluation and critique. Panel members are usually their mentors or coaches. Mentors to the KMME are from the academe and large companies and businesses.

Berberio shared, the program focused on entrepreneurial mind-setting and values formation, marketing mindset, business model canvas, operations management, digitalization, supply and value chain management, accounting and finance for small businesses, human resource management, market-driven innovation on product development, and market expansion and internationalization, and good governance and ethics. 

DTI Sibugay calls on interested MSMEs to join the band wagon of batch two KMME mentees for 2022, which will be launched on July 18. Registration may be done online (link will be posted on DTI Facebook Page) or visit the nearest Negosyo Center in your area/ municipality.

For batch two, the KMME sets focus on MSMEs that are into providing services like salon, barbershop, food service and delivery, aesthetics, photo studios and the like.
