LAOAG CITY, June 30 (PIA) – The Ilocos Norte Provincial Police Office (INPPO) presented the operational achievements of the local police in the province for the first semester of 2022.
LTCOL Paul Benedict Parado, chief of operations, said INPPO arrested a total of 33 illegal drug suspects and conducted 32 anti-illegal drug campaigns which led to the bust of 19.32 grams of shabu and 6.20 grams of marijuana.
“Moreover, the INPPO’s intensive protocol for safety led to the arrest of 145 wanted persons and 67 most wanted persons in the province,” Parado said during the Joint Provincial Peace and Order Council (PPOC) and Provincial Anti-Drug Abuse Council (PADAC) Meeting recently.

For the campaign against loose firearms and deposited firearms for safekeeping, 67 loose firearms were confiscated, surrendered, and recovered while 22 violators of the Kontra Boga campaign were arrested.
During the last election, INPPO implemented “Oplan FEEL Safe 2022” and Oplan Katok, which led to 339 firearms surrendered for safekeeping by political candidates, elected government officials, supporters, the public, and the Philippine National Police.
Lastly, 171 violators of illegal gambling were arrested and P158,204 used as bet money was confiscated.
In their assessment, Parado said that the province is generally peaceful with the continuous efforts of the police and other law enforcement agencies in performing their mandate to maintain order and safety in the province. (JCR/AMB/EJFG, PIA Ilocos norte)
