PAGADIAN CITY, June 29 (PIA) –The Pagadian City government held a joint oath-taking ceremony for the newly elected city and municipal officials at the City Commercial Center (C3) Function Hall on June 28.
The elected city and municipal officials under the ‘Arangkada Pusong Asenso’ Team led by re-elected Mayor Samuel Co were sworn in before Executive Judge Dennis Vicoy of the Regional Trial Court (RTC) and witnessed by regional directors, family members, employees, and local media.
Co in his message, encouraged his fellow elected officials to work together to implement programs and projects to make the city even more progressive in their three-year tenure.
Co has also unveiled its development plans for the city including the plan to intensify and push for more development as Pagadian is the 7th highly urbanized city in Mindanao and the 34th out of 148 highly urbanized cities in the country. The mayor will also push for the complete and final transfer of all the regional offices from Zamboanga City to Pagadian City.
The good mayor added that previously during his 4th term of service to the city, his vision for Pagadian is that it will become one of the fastest cities in Mindanao, but now in his fifth term of office, his aim is to make Pagadian as one of the fastest growing cities in the country.
The mayor is hopeful that his vision will be realized as the regional offices are already in the city and there are already so many people from different parts of the Zamboanga Peninsula as well as from local government units (LGUs) visiting the city.
“We have lined up several tourism infrastructure so that more people will come here to Pagadian. I would like to announce that the funds of the past year and this year have been allocated for the improvement of our roads, construction of drainage and canals, among others,” Co announced.
“With the arrival of all the people in the city, it will boost our economy and I am hopeful that more hotels, restaurants and department stores will be built and there will be more jobs available to our people,” Co concluded. (RVC/PIA-Zamboanga del Sur)
