NHCP opens 2022 Research Grant

QUEZON CITY, (PIA) -- In line with its mandate to promote and enrich Philippine history through research and publication, the National Historical Commission of the Philippines (NHCP) is calling on historical researchers and academicians to apply for their 2022 research grant. 

The commission aims to create fresh research about Philippine Revolution in the provinces and ethnicities in time for the 125th anniversary of Philippine Independence and Nationhood (2023-2026); the influence of martial law to any part of Filipino society in time for the 50th anniversary of its imposition (1972-2022); and on any new and unexplored areas of Philippine history. 

Eight (8) grants will be awarded by NHCP for the following categories: 
 

a. Four (4) grants on the role of the localities, ethnicities, and indigenous peoples during 
the Philippine Revolution and Philippine-American War; 
b. Two (2) grants on any area of Philippine history during the martial law era; and 
c. Two (2) grants on any new and unexplored topics on other areas of Philippine 
history. 

The program will allow individuals who have done and/or currently conducting historical research to be able to published their work. 

Those who will qualify for the grant will receive P200,000.00 each for their outstanding manuscript.
