MISAMIS ORIENTAL (PIA)— 4th Infantry “Diamond “Division (4ID) Public Division Chief Francisco Garello Jr. disclosed that the administration’s ongoing Army Transformation Roadmap (ATR) in addition to Duterte’s recently signed Republic Act 11709 will only serve to bolster 4ID’s excellent performance in the region and aid in the attainment of its 2028 vision of becoming a world-class army that is a source of national pride during the CORDS-X Podcast, May 21.
“Makatbang kini sa duha ka butang, una, kani na balaod mapausbaw ang leadership sa armed forces of the Philippines, pinaagi niini mahatagan ug panahon ang mga general officers na buhaton ang ilang mga trabaho, ika duha, maka benepisyo ang AFP sa aspeto sa mga programa sa pag-modernized ug pag implementa sa mangihundangon nga paglambo sa capabilidad sa lain-lain na mga services sa AFP,” Garello said.
(This will help in two things, first, this law will enhance the leadership of the armed forces of the Philippines, thereby giving general officers time to do their jobs, second, the AFP will benefit in terms of programs to modernize and implement continuous capacity building of various AFP services)
In addition to the bolstered resource support, he added that the 4ID has partnered with other government line agencies such as the Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA)-10, Department of Education (DepEd)-10, Department of Agriculture (DA)-10, and among others to create skills development programs for its soldiers to enforce an environment of capacity growth.
As part of their military infrastructure development, 33 projects were funded under the 4th Infantry Division’s partnership with the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH)-10’s Tatag ng Imprastraktura para sa Kapayapaan at Seguridad (TIKAS) program amounting to P683 million since 2019.
The 4ID has also acquired new mobility assets composed of 86 civilian vehicles, 19 units of military trucks, a fire truck, and an incoming self-propelled 155-millimeter artillery later this year.
With over 2000 former CPP-NPA-NDF surrenders benefiting from the Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG)-10 retooled community support program, and 1,300 barangays who declared CPP-NPA-NDF as persona non-grata in far-flung or GIDA areas, Garello is confident in the army’s sustained victory towards its sustainable peace campaign.
