MISAMIS ORIENTAL (PIA)--Misamis Oriental Governor Peter Unabia vows to be at service for his constituents, especially to the poor and in need.

“I have compassion for the poor kay gikan ko dinha (because I came from there) and believe me, this is the very reason why naa ko (I am here) in front of you as the governor-elect of this province to really serve those who really need the service from the government,” Unabia said.

Unabia also mentioned that based on the new data, the poverty incidence of the province is at 22% and such serves as the challenge to his administration. Further, the governor asked all the heads of offices and employees of the capitol to support his administration the way they supported the previous administration.

The governor also stressed that he is not after the position as he only targets to manage the fund of the provincial government to provide necessary interventions to the marginalized sector, thus, he urged the workers of the LGU to work with him 'as a team.'

Fostering development in the province, the present administration will work on PAGLAUM pillar, which stands for P-Participatory Governance; A-Agricultural Development for Poverty Eradication; G-Goal-oriented Tourism Development; L-Livelihood and Employment through Industry Development; A-Aggressive Programs for Youth Welfare and Development; U-Unified effort for Health and Social Services Delivery; and M-Mobilization of Resources through Equitable Sharing. (JAKA/PIA-10/Misamis Oriental)
