The lawmaker has assured the more than 3,000 education personnel who attended the program, of her full support for all the programs and that she can be reached anytime should the DepEd needs her.
The newly elected lady solon said she will continue her father-in-law’s programs and projects along with education which is one of the most important legacies that the former congressman will leave for the Quirinian learners.
The lady Solon shared that during her visit here to attend the birthday celebration of Congressman Junie when she was not yet married to Governor Dax, she had personally witnessed Congressman Junie's dedication through the words of thanks accorded to him during the early morning mañanita.
She further shared that he had fully seen the dedication of her father-in-law in providing for the needs of the education sector when she got married to Governor Dax.
“As I gained more courage to share stories and ideas with Dad, I got to learn more about his life, his experiences when he was young and why he prioritized education as one of the pillars of development of the province,” she said.
Cua further shared that when her Dad Junie was still young, as the eldest in the family, he had to accompany his father to Zamboanga, had to stay there for six months for his studies and had to endure the hardships of crossing the rivers and mountains just to get to school.
“When he became congressman here in Quirino, he realized that one of the things that he wanted to provide for the children and for the families is accessible education. With that, I have always remembered his story and feel how important is DepEd to him,” Congresswoman Midy said adding that her Dad will surely miss DepEd and the yearly mañanita that is given to him.
Cua has also congratulated the awardees of Project SHINE as she commended the DepEd-SDO Quirino for being the most honored department in the province today.
“I would like to take this opportunity to thank everyone especially all our Deped family for all the support and love that you have given us. Without you, I think the youth and the future of Quirino will be unstable,” the newly elected congresswoman said. (TCB/PIA Quirino)
