DUMAGUETE CITY, Negros Oriental, July 12 (PIA) -- The Dumaguete City Health Office has confirmed that 26 of the city’s 30 total barangays have reported zero active COVID-19 cases as of July 11.
Only four barangays are monitoring five active cases, three of them were confirmed in Junob (1), Piapi (2), Pulantubig (1), and Taclobo (1).
The three new cases reported are symptomatic but fully vaccinated and include a 23-year-old maintenance worker, a 12-year-old child confined at the hospital, and a 48-year-old male resident.
Meanwhile, five COVID-19 patients have recovered also that include a couple, a businessman, and two BPO workers.
Those who tested positive for COVID-19 but who are fully vaccinated will be released from isolation and considered recovered seven days after the first manifestation of symptoms and no longer symptomatic.
There are now five active cases with 5,673 recoveries and 166 deaths since the pandemic affected the city from Jan. 30, 2020 to July 11, 2022.
Meanwhile, hundreds of employees and officials from both the government and private institutions participated in this year’s Nutri-Fest at the Pantawan II Rizal Boulevard.
Mayor Felipe Antonio Remollo and other city officials reiterated their support to the programs and activities of the City Nutrition Office and allied agencies to instill the benefits of eating a balanced diet, physical fitness, and engagement in outdoor activities to maintain a healthy lifestyle.
