DAVAO DEL NORTE (PIA) - More than 40 manufacturers and suppliers of prime commodities and basic necessities have joined the two-day “Go KaNegosyo Presyo Diskwento Caravan staged at the Atrium of the new City Hall of Tagum.
In an interview, Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) Davao del Norte Provincial Director Romeo Castanaga cited this “aggressive participation” of suppliers and manufacturers as “unique” for this year’s revival of the Presyo Diskwento Caravan project of DTI.
Two in years in hiatus due to the pandemic, this year’s Presyo Diskwento Caravan which is among the regular services of DTI is met with enthusiasm as manifested by the considerable number of participating suppliers and manufacturers and the number of small-scale retailers.
“Wala pa ang formal opening nag linya na ang gustong mosulod, alas siete pa sa buntag (Prior to the formal opening, those wanted to get in had already lined up at 7:00 in the morning)," Castanaga said.
Dubbed as “Go KaNegosyo Diskwento Caravan, this Presyo Diskwento Caravan is organized by the DTI Davao del Norte, the NCCC Supermarket and the City Mayor’s Office of Tagum. Present during the formal opening this morning were City of Tagum Mayor Rey T. Uy, DTI XI Regional Director Maria Belenda Q. Ambi, NCCC Supermarket Assistant Vice President for Operations Jezza Ancheta and Castanaga.
Castanaga viewed this caravan as a way of cushioning the impact of high prices of fuel products which relatively affect the prices of consumer goods.
Meanwhile, Ancheta said the NCCC Supermarket is aggressively pushing this Caravan as a way of providing “additional income” to small-scale retailers or sari-sari store owners whom she called as NCCC business partners.
“Naka recognize ang NCCC Supermarket na- grabe na jud ang pagmahal aside sa presyo sa gasoline, ang inflation karon taas jud. So kini nga event sa Go Ka Negosyo Caravan naka offer ta dagdag kita jud; pasabot puro naay diskwento ang gihatag sa mga partners nato para mas mobalik ang ilang gana sa negosyo. (The NCCC Supermarket has recognized rising prices aside from fuel, the inflation. So this event Go KaNegosyo Caravan offers added income, meaning, all goods and items are discounted offered to our partners to bring back their interest in business.),” she said.
Opened this morning, this two-day caravan will last until 5:00 P.M. tomorrow. (Jeanevive Duron-Abangan, PIA XI)
