SM City Cauayan opens KSK Farmer’s Market

CITY OF ILAGAN, Isabela (PIA) - - Farmer-graduates who successfully completed the training on modern farming spearheaded by the SM City Cauayan in partnership with various agencies were given the opportunity to sell their products inside the mall for free.

This after the SM City Cauayan management through the SM Foundation Incorporated has officially launched its Kabalikat sa Kabuhayan (KSK) Farmer’s Market Day on July 15 under its program KSK Sustainable Agricultural Program.

Krystal Gayle Agbulig, SM Cauayan City public relations manager, said through the KSK, farmer-beneficiaries were taught on how to grow fruits and vegetables properly using the modern farming technology.

“KSK farmers are given with prime location for free in the SM malls to sell their produce through the Farmer’s Market Day. They are also linked to SM suppliers to further develop their entrepreneurial skills," said Ms. Shiela Marie Estabillo, mall manager of SM City Cauayan.

She said that the KSK is a joint efforts of the Department of Agriculture (DA), Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD), Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) and SM, Kabalikat Sa Kabuhayan Program.

To date, there are now a total of 26,776 farmers benfited from the free training nationwide.
