ISU opens marketing center for food, agri-based products

CITY OF ILAGAN, Isabela (PIA) - - The Isabela State University (ISU) System has opened its marketing center for exhibit located at the entrance gate of its main campus in Echague town.

As part of the exhibit, food and agriculture-based products are up for sale such as canned kalderetang kambing, kilawing kambing, adobong kambing, among others.

ISU System President Dr. Ricmar Aquino led the opening of the marketing center on July 12, 2022 and assisted by executive officials of the university.

Aquino said the marketing center would serve as a “One Stop Shop” to promote and exhibit all generated and produced food-based products in line with the university's “One Campus, One Product” program.

“This is one way of showcasing our different innovative products to be offered to the public,” Aquino said.

He also shared his vision to develop the center as a hub for technology commercialization for future product innovation from its research and student immersion programs.

“We can allow the faculty members to display their products too on a consignment basis. Let’s put more products here,” Aquino said.

He said the university will also allow entrepreneur and agribusiness students to have their immersion in the marketing center to train them, and to develop and promote their products.

“Let us plan more strategies to showcase our products, return our income, and immerse our students,” Aquino further said.

The marketing center is also eyed as a future convenience store, pasalubong center, and a coffee shop. (OTB/MGE / PIA Isabela)
