LAOAG CITY, July 25 (PIA) – The Department of Migrant Workers (DMW) will be rolling out its first mobile caravan on July 27, here.
According to Anne Marie Lizette Atuan, manager of the Public Employment Service Office (PESO) of the provincial government, Governor Matthew Marcos Manotoc has expressed delight after the said agency approved their request to bring their services closer to the Ilokanos.
Atuan said this mobile service caravan will benefit Overseas Filipino Workers (OFWs) in Ilocos Norte since their office has been receiving numerous requests, especially those who are experiencing difficulties in online use and this will lighten their burden of travelling to La Union where the agency is based.
The caravan will take place at the Robinsons Place Activity Center in San Nicolas town, from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
DMW services that Ilocos Norte-based overseas workers can avail include processing of their Overseas Employment Certificate (OEC) and free legal assistance.
The provincial government assures they will continue to cooperate with DMW to help more OFWs in the province and assist them in their concerns. (JCR/AMB/MJTAB/CMV, PIA Ilocos Norte)
