Ifugao Provincial Blood Council sets blood donation activity

LAGAWE, Ifugao(PIA)--The Ifugao Provincial Blood Council through the Provincial Health Office, Department of Health- Ifugao, and Philippine Red Cross- Ifugao Chapter shall be conducting a blood donation activity on Tuesday, July 2, 6 from 8:00am to 5:00pm at the Lagawe Central School Gymnasium.


This is in observance of the National Blood Donor’s Month which aims to build public awareness of the need for quality and safe blood, honor and recognize blood donors, and encourage regular blood donation.


It also  aims to provide safe and adequate blood supply for people in need such as patients undergoing dialysis, surgeries, patients with medical conditions, and/or for inevitable medical emergencies.


According to the Department of Health, the basic requirement of a potential blood donor is at least 110 lbs (50 kg), pulse rate between 60 and 100 beats/minute with a regular rhythm, blood pressure between 90 and 160 systolic and 60 & 100 diastolic, and at least 125 g/L hemoglobin.
