DOH highlights the challenge on encouraging more individuals to take the booster dose and continue to intensify the campaign by bringing the vaccination closer to the residents.
“We all know that we have different variants of the virus right now, that’s why we really need to strengthen our wall of protection and immunity by having booster shots, so that we are still safe.” Dr. Joshua Brillantes, Regional Director of DOH-9 said.
The PinasLakas campaign also highlighted the start of giving the booster dose to the pediatric group ages 12 to 17 years old in preparation for the start of classes in a few months.
Furthermore, DOH-9 encourages the LGUs to help in the campaign by combating misinformation regarding the COVID-19 booster vaccine.
“Our country cannot afford to be on lockdown anymore, as mentioned by our President, so we need to ease restriction and strengthen our vaccinations, especially in booster doses,” Dr. Brillantes said.
DOH-9 continuously urges the public to visit the nearest vaccination station in their area, where they are now reinforcing vaccination sites in marketplaces, barangay hall, and malls and a ramped up house-to-house vaccination especially for senior citizens who are at risk for viruses and those who have not yet received their booster shots.
