TANUDAN, Kalinga (PIA) - -This province received another development windfall in the amount of Php138.6 million under the Additional Financing 2 of the World Bank -funded Philippine Rural Development Project (PRDP) for the improvement of the 6.17-kilometer Banneng-Darulog-Bawak Farm-to-Market road in this municipality.
The project award was received on July 21 by Governor James Edduba and Provincial Agriculturist Domingo Bakilan at Savannah Resort Hotel, Angeles City, Pampanga.
The 5thPRDP FMR in the province, this road improvement project is expected to reduce postharvest losses and travel time, and benefit around 479 households within its influence area.
Last April 12, then Agriculture Secretary William Dar together with DA-CAR Regional Executive Director Cameron Odsey, officially handed over to the province the second No Objection Letter (NOL2) for said FMR I-BUILD subproject and the award of the contract.
President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. ordered DA to develop a farm-to-market road masterplan which will help guide government initiatives in securing access to farming communities.
