BAYOMBONG, Nueva Vizcaya (PIA) - - The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) has completed the road link between Nueva Vizcaya and Quirino province.
Engineer Loreta Malauan, DPWH regional director, said the 500-meter road network has been finally concreted as part of the Junction Abbag-Nagtipunan-Dupax del Norte, Nueva Vizcaya Road funded under the package 3 of the Road Network Development Project.
She said the concreted road project has completed the NV-Quirino road along with the Bucao-La Conwap Section, which will also connect to the existing Mactol Bucao Section, Missing Link Project of the DPWH Regional Office 2.
“One of the biggest issues of Barangay Keat and Matmad is the lack of connectivity when it comes to community involvement and development. When these two sections are finally linked, they will no longer struggle to walk along the forested area for several days to avail of basic services in the nearest towns”, Malaluan said.
She said another 2-kilometer road opening and concreting is ongoing under package 5 and 6, which forms part of the whole stretch of the Mactol-Bucao to Bucao, La Conwap Sections.
Malaluan said this P12.5 million project is expected to be completed earlier this year with the concreting of the main carriageway and installation of chevrons while the existing slope protection works and drainage system are incorporated under package 3, which was implemented last year.
