BAYOMBONG, Nueva Vizcaya (PIA) - - The Office of Civil Defense (OCD) in Cagayan Valley recently led a multi-sectoral Tree Planting in the province as part of the observance of the National Disaster Resilience Month.
Robert Corpuz said the tree planting activity which was held at the Maddiangat Watershed in Quezon town was joined by various national government agencies, local government units and private organizations in the region.
The Maddiangat Watershed is part of the Mt. Palali range which is one of the mountaineering attractions in the province.
Corpuz said the Maddiangat Watershed is a Local Conservation Area for Biodiversity Conservation and Ecosystems Services.
The activity, dubbed as TREESILIENCE, strengthens the national and LGU campaign on the prevention and mitigation, preparedness, response and rehabilitation and recovery elements of disaster risk reduction management. (MDCT/BME/PIA Nueva Vizcaya)
