BAYOMBONG, Nueva Vizcaya (PIA) - - The Nueva Vizcaya State University (NVSU) recently conferred a Doctoral Degree to former Department of Agriculture (DA) Secretary William Dar.

The conferment rites which was conducted at the Nueva Vizcaya Convention Center highlighted Dar receiving his Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Organization Development and Planning ‘Honoris Causa’.

The conferment of Doctoral Degree for Dar was approved by the NVSU Board of Regents.

NVSU conferred the degree to Dar “in honor of his significant influence, extraordinary accomplishments and outstanding contributions which led to the immense improvement of the research, development, and extension culture in the university, for the benefit of Novo Vizcayanos and Filipinos in general”.

The university also highlighted its strong partnership with Dar and “the institutions he represented that became a partner in the implementation of many programs and projects in research, development and extension and recipient of various infrastructure projects, all leading to the development and empowerment of the agricultural sector”.

NVSU and DA maintains its partnership programs and projects such as the Increasing Availability of Swine Quality Stock through Distribution and Upgrading of Swine Multiplier Farm in Nueva Vizcaya, Establishing a Viable Enterprise using Free Range Chicken Production Technology in the province and the Upgrading of Tissue Culture Production Facility of Triploud Hybrid (abb) Saba Banana Cultivar at the NVSU, among many others.

NVSU also submitted proposals to Dar such as the Philippine Citrus Resources Development Center (PCRDC), Upgrading Fish Cream Soup Facility, Upgrading of the NVSU Food Processing and the Facility Enhancement of the NV Climate Change Center. (MDCT/BME/PIA Nueva Vizcaya)
