Zambo City brings PinasLakas info drive to schools

ZAMBOANGA CITY, Aug 8 (PIA) – Zamboanga City continues to intensify the PinasLakas COVID-19 Booster Vaccination campaign through conduct of information sessions in Department of Education (DepEd) district schools,  following the recent simultaneous launched in the Philippines.

The City’s Demand Generation team composed of City Mayor’s Public Information Office, City Health Office and Philippine information agency visit the district schools in Vitali, Buenevista, Ayala, San Ramon, Manicahan and Mercedes in preparation of the face-to-face classes or in person classes  for teachers, parents and the students through booster vaccination especially for the pediatric group ages 12 to 17 years old.

One of the aim of the City Mayor John Dalipe in his one hundred days administration is to reach the 50% rate of booster vaccination in the city also in support of the PinasLakas campaign of President Ferdinand Marcos Jr., “I appeal to everyone to get the opportunity to complete the primary dose and booster shot, complying with the minimum health standards and vaccination are the best defenses against COVID-19,” Mayor Dalipe said.

Further, the City Government strengthens the booster vaccination to address the increasing cases of COVID-19 in the city in the past days. The city records 8 to 10 new COVID-19 cases per day and now has a total of 187 confirmed cases as of August 2. Meanwhile, the city also records 168,734 individuals who received the booster vaccination.

With the increasing number of cases and to encourage all eligible individuals to take booster shots for an added layer of protection against COVID-19, Mayor Dalipe is set to issue an Executive Order mandating he imposition of curfew from 12 midnight to 4am every day for non-boosted individuals.
The Demand Generation team will continue the information sessions for the rest of the district schools from August 10 to 12 in Maria Clara Lorenzo Lobregat Memorial Highschool, Don Pablo Junior Highschool, Talon-Talon National Highschool, Tetuan Central School, Baliwasan Central and Zamboanga Central School.
