VIGAN CITY (PIA) – The Pag-IBIG Fund Vigan Branch brought its services closer to its members through the Lingkod Pag-IBIG on Wheels (LPOW) program conducted in Tagudin, Ilocos Sur on Friday at the town’s Yellow Market Grounds.
Some 123 members of the government-owned and controlled corporation under the Department of Human Settlements and Urban Development availed of their services.

A member for eleven years, Gerald Layco said, “Nagverify ako kung pwede akong mag-loan, 11 years na akong naghuhulog at first time kong mag-loan ngayon.”
Further he said, “Maayos naman itong Pag-IBIG on wheels, walang problema. Maganda na may ganito, na sila ang lumalapit para hindi na kami pupunta sa San Fernando at nakatipid pa kami sa pamasahe”.
According to Marketing Officer of Pag-IBIG Vigan Divine Mercado-Miana, most clients joined the caravan to avail of the Loyalty Card Plus Enrollment and to register as member.
“This initiative of Pag-IBIG Fund aims to reach out to its members and provide them immediate assistance according to their needs particularly those affected by calamities,” said Miana.
She explained that LPOW was created to bring their services closer to those from far flung areas.
She added, “In fact, pumunta kami sa Abra right after the earthquake to offer calamity loan and other services such as membership registration and loyalty card plus enrollment. An estimated 180 members from Abra availed calamity loans during the conduct of Lingkod Pag-IBIG on Wheels.”
Housing loans were also offered by the Pag-IBIG Fund Vigan Branch during its LPOW program in Bangued, Abra.
The program was extended at the Sinait Public Market in Sinait, Ilocos Sur on August 2 and at the Narvacan Farmers Market in Narvacan, Ilocos Sur on August 3.

Meanwhile, the deployment of the LPOW at Cervantes Public Market on August 4 was cancelled due to unpassable Tagudin-Cervantes road.(JCR/ATV, PIA Ilocos Sur)
