Apayao teachers, school heads receive laptops

BAGUIO CITY (PIA) -- Teachers and other school officials received laptops as the province of Apayao kicked off its Brigada Eskwela.

Governor Elias Bulut Jr. awarded 100 laptops to school principals, teacher-in-charge and school heads of various elementary and secondary schools in the province during the kick off program of the Brigada Eskwela of DepEd-Schools Division of Apayao last week.

The distribution of the information and communication technology equipment is among the support of the local government of Apayao to encourage school teachers and other officials to work harder in bringing about quality education to the school children of Apayao. This is part of Bulut’s   initiatives during his term as Congressman to aid DepEd's learning continuity plan during and post-pandemic.

With the theme, “Brigada Eskwela: Tugon sa Hamon ng Ligtas na Balik Aral,” the Brigada Eskwela focuses   on information campaigns, preparations, and strengthening partnerships that complement DepEd’s effort to ensure quality basic education,  said Schools Division Superintendent Benedicta Gamatero.

Also known as the National Schools Maintenance Week, the Brigada Eskwela is an annual activity of DepEd being participated by various stakeholders, teaching and non-teaching personnel, parents, and other members of the community and, representatives from private and public sectors to ensure that schools are prepared before the school opening.

Based on DepEd Memorandum No. 34 series of 2022 or the School Calendar and Activities for the School Year 2022-2023, this year’s Brigada Eskwela is set  from August 1 to 26

Meanwhile, as part of the Brigada Eskwela and “Save Mother Earth Movement” of the DepEd, officials led by Provincial Administrator Atty. Edmar Pascua with DepEd Apayao personnel led by Chief Education Supervisor Joy Saleng participated in a tree planting in front of the Luna National High School and Luna Central School.
