CALAPAN CITY, Oriental Mindoro (PIA) -- The Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) Oriental Mindoro has started conducting the August 2022 Labor Force Survey (LFS) on August 8, and it will conclude on August 27, 2022. There are 96 identified sample households in the municipalities of Victoria, Pola, Roxas, Gloria and Socorro.

In this survey, two days will be allotted for the Provincial Focal Person (PFP) to supervise at least six sample households of two different sample areas.

PSA Oriental Mindoro Chief Statistical Specialist Efren C. Armonia said the activity is in accordance with the PSA Board Resolution No. 8 series of 2020, Approval of the Conduct of the Monthly LFS and Generation of Monthly Labor and Employment Statistics.

“The Monthly LFS is a nationwide survey conducted by the PSA to gather data on the demographic and socio-economic characteristics of the population. The results of the survey will provide high frequency statistical information on the nation’s labor market and better understanding of the current situation of employment and economy of the Philippines,” Armonia said.

After having gathered the necessary data, processing will immediately follow using tablets as a medium of data collection, adherence to the Computer-Assisted Personal Interviewing (CAPI) approach.

Armonia said PSA is committed to deliver relevant and reliable statistics. Hence, he encouraged the public, especially the identified households, to actively participate in the various censuses and surveys conducted by their agency for the purpose of reliability of gathered data.  (LTC/PIA-OrMin)
