Villagers benefit from free medical, dental mission

CITY OF ILAGAN, Isabela (PIA) - - More than 500 residents in the interior barangay of the municipality of Jones in this province have benefitted from the free medical and dental mission initiated by the 5th Infantry Division, Philippine Army.

The activity was successfully conducted in partnership with the Department of Health (DOH) - Center for Health Development Region 2, Isabela Police Provincial Office and the Local Government Unit of Jones in Barangay Dicamay Dos.

5ID Public Affairs Office Chief Captain Rigor Pamittan said 238 local residents have availed of free medical consultation, 93 availed of tooth extraction and dental check-up, 27 male children have undergone circumcision, and 130 individuals availed of free hair cut service.

Pamittan said aside from the availment of free medical, dental and cicumcision services, the 502nd Infantry Birgade soldiers, the Isabela Police Provincial office (IPPO), and the Local Government Unit of Jones also distributed relief assistance to 50 families,  school supplies to15 students, and conducted feeding activity for 50 children.

Jones Mayor Nhel Montano expressed his gratitude to the troops for extending free services for his constituents despite the geographical location of their community.

Meanwhile, Major General Lawrence Mina recalled his experience in Dicamay Dos when he was a young lieutenant as he served in the area during his early services as a young soldier. (OTB/MGE - PIA Isabela)
