PNP Chief leads turnover of PRO-Cor leadership

LA TRINIDAD, Benguet (PIA) -- PNP Chief General Rodolfo Azurin Jr. presided the turn-over and change of command ceremony at the Police Regional Office Cordillera at the Camp Bado Dangwa here on Saturday (August 13).

Outgoing PRO-Cor Regional Director PBGen. Ronald Lee turned over the leadership of the “most disciplined cops” to   PBGen. Mafelino Bazar.

The PNP Chief commended the accomplishments of the outgoing Regional Director for a job well done during his tour of duty in the Cordillera region and for adopting the PATROL PLAN 2030 which made the personnel of the PRO-Cor effective and capable of keeping the region progressive, peaceful and secured.

Azurin added that the knowledge of the outgoing director will be very useful in his new assignment as the head of the Criminal Investigation and Detection Group.

He also congratulated the newly installed Regional Director and assured that PRO-Cor will be in good hands.

“I would like to congratulate the incoming director, with his wealth of knowledge and experience, I am optimistic that he will be an effective leader who will exemplify dedication to duty. I am sure that this office will be in good hands as the new Regional Director would always be the epitome of an effective and efficient leader who will always find ways to reach out to the general public with different programs and projects,” Azurin said.

Azurin who was raised and educated in La Trinidad, Benguet, also paid tribute to the late Governor and Congressman Nestor Fongwan Sr. who gave him the opportunity to serve the people of Benguet.  He also gave appreciation to former Benguet Congressman Ronald Cosalan and former PRO-Cor Regional Director and now Baguio City Mayor Benjamin Magalong.

He acknowledged the guidance and learnings from the former officials of Benguet and PRO-Cor during his stint as the provincial director of the Benguet Provincial Police Office in 2013.

The Chief PNP also reintroduced his peace and security framework entitled “MKK = K” which stands for Malasakit, Kaayusan, Kapayapaan and Kaunlaran wherein the combination of care, order and peace equates to progress.

This he adopted during his incumbency as Regional Director of Police Regional Office 1, and hopes to be implemented in the Cordillera.

“Team work, unity and cooperation are the key to being able to reach success and fulfilment in doing our roles and fulfilling our responsibilities,  and I believe that the incoming Regional Director will adopt this to continue help the people of PRO-Cordillera especially on realizing the main program and thrust dubbed as the “MKK=K” Framework.”

He said the MKK=K framework shall be supplemented by Kasimbayanan program, which stands for Kapulisan, Simbahan at Pamayanan, wherein regardless of religious affiliation, volunteer church leaders shall help the police nurture relations with the community thereby bridging the gap between the two.

The turnover of command ceremony was attended by officials and personnel from the PNP Headquarters led by Directorate for Comptrollership MGen. Jesus Cambay, Armed Forces of the Philippines, regional government agencies, civil society organizations, other members of the community, and members of the Philippine Military Academy Class 1992 and their families.(JDP/RMC- PIA CAR)
