La Union gov’t hands over 15K financial assistance to LUSDO

SAN FERNANDO CITY (PIA) – The Provincial Government of La Union (PGLU) spearheaded by Governor Raphaelle Veronica Ortega-David handed over financial assistance amounting P6,700,000 to the La Union Schools Division Office (LUSDO) on August 1 in preparation of the upcoming school year.
 
The financial assistance funded from the Special Education Fund of the Provincial School Board will be distributed to 747 public schools in the province with P15,000 each.
 
In addition, the amount will be used by the schools’ respective projects as part of the preparation for the face-to-face classes as per Vice President and Education Secretary Sara Duterte-Carpio.
 
In a statement, the governor assured to support the development programs of the education sector in the province.
 
“One of my priorities in the PUSO agenda is to provide universal access to basic education for I strongly believe that quality education is the foundation of growth and development in building a brighter nation,” said David.
 
Meanwhile, Lawyer Donato Balderas, Jr., La Union schools division superintendent, extended his gratitude to the PGLU for the full support to the learners and educators.
 
“Ito ang naging inspirasyon po ng lahat para magsama-sama ang lahat ng stakeholders para magampanan po natin ang dapat nating gampanan bilang may obligasyon sa edukasyon,” Balderas told the Philippine Information Agency.
 
Further, the PGLU distributed laptops and tablets for teachers to be entrusted in fostering quality education. (JCR/AMB/KJCR, PIA La Union)
