NegOr PNP, celebrities face-off in 'Ang Probinsyano' tourney

SIBULAN, Negros Oriental, August 18 (PIA) -- Officers of the Philippine National Police (PNP) - Negros Oriental will compete against celebrities and basketball players in an exhibition match on August 28 at the Lamberto Macias Sports Center, Dumaguete City.

The event dubbed as “Promdi-Ang Probinsiyano vs. Artistahing Pulis” will start at 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m.

PNP is inviting the public to watch the exhibition game.

Tickets are priced at P400 for general admission and P700 for VIP and are sold in all police stations across the province.

The exhibition game is also a charity event for the PNP.

“Ang proceeds ani, ipondo nato sa atong Police Community Relations (PCR) activities like sa Serbisyo Caravan ug sa atong support sa mga advocacy groups (The proceeds will fund our PCR activities like the Serbisyo Caravan and other advocacy groups that we support),” said Provincial Police Director PCol. Germano Mallari.

Early this month, officers of PNP here together with other agencies under the Negros Oriental Task Force to End Local Communist Armed Conflict (NOTF ELCAC) held a Serbisyo Caravan in Brgy. Candabong, Manjuyod where over a thousand residents availed of government services and brought home packs of rice and relief goods, medicine, slippers, school supplies, and free vegetable seedlings.

Police Lieutenant Col. Roland Desiree Lavisto, chief of the Provincial Police Community Affairs Development Unit (PCADU), said that aside from the PNP, officers from the Bureau of Jail Management and the Bureau of Fire Protection also signified their intent to join the friendly match.

Mallari also announced other activities of the Negros Oriental Provincial Police Office (NOrPPO) such as the Provincial Director’s Cup Shooting Competition on August 19, 20, and 21 at the PNP firing range.

Registration is at P1,000 for civilian and P500 for members of law enforcement agencies.

PNP-NOrPPO is also organizing a Victory Ride for Successful Conduct of May 9, 2022 Elections and Peaceful Turnover of

Administration on August 28 at 5:00 a.m.

The activity is open for all motorcycle enthusiasts.

Registration fee is at P350 inclusive of a free T-shirt.

Starting point will be at North Point in Dumaguete City then to Bayawan City - Mabinay - Ayungon and back to Dumaguete City.
Mallari said the proceeds of these activities will go to other development projects of NOrPPO. (RAL/PIA7 Negros Oriental)
