DILG LDN: Former violent extremists now covered by E-CLIP

BALO-I, Lanao del Norte (PIA)--Two former members of the Local Terrorist Group (LTG) Dawlah Islamiya-Maute Group (DI-MG) who surrendered at the headquarters of the 4th Mechanized Infantry Battalion on August 18 are now covered under the Enhanced Comprehensive Local Integration Program (E-CLIP), according to Department of Interior and Local Government Lanao del Norte (DILG LDN) Provincial Director Bruce Colao. 

In Lanao del Norte, the E-CLIP committee is headed by the governor to assess and provide benefits to former violent extremists (FVEs). 

Under the E-CLIP grant, FVEs will receive initial cash assistance worth P15,000 and P50,000 livelihood assistance and firearms remuneration amounting to the value of turned-in firearms.

“Ang armas nga naiturn over will be evaluated and assessed by the Philippine National Police. Didto makita ug pila ang fire arms remuneration, naa siya'y value na ihatag ug amo na iprocess,” he said.

[The weapon that was turned over will be evaluated and assessed by the Philippine National Police. There, we will see the worth of the firearms remuneration, its value will be processed.]

Colao said that other assistance will also be provided through the different programs of other line agencies of the government.

“Para amo iproseso, kailangan ang ang Joint PNP AFP Intelligence Committee Certification nga sila members sa Dawlah-Islamiya. Once marecieve, ato iprocess ang ilang financial benefits,” he said. 

[For us to process the assistance, we need the Joint PNP AFP Intelligence Committee Certification stating that they are members of Dawlah-Islamiya. Once received, we will process the financial benefits.]
