CITY OF TABUK, Kalinga (PIA) - - The Provincial Statistics Office recently conducted a two-day roadshow in 13 barangays of Tabuk City in preparation for the 2022 roll out of the Community Based Monitoring System (CBMS).
These barangays comprising the August batch are Nambucayan, Gobgob, Amlao, Nambaran, Agbannawag, Ipil, San Juan, Magsaysay, Dagupan Centro, San Juan, Balong, Bulanao Centro and Bulanao Norte.
Maribel Dalayday, Chief Statistical Specialist of the provincial Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA), said the roadshow aims to inform the general public about the rollout, to rally the support of officials of covered barangays and other stakeholders, and to encourage their participation on the CBMS.
The PSA team appealed for their support to the project stressing on the relevance of CBMS on community development. They also distributed information, education and communication materials and CBMS merchandise.
CBMS refers to an organized technology-based system of collecting, processing and validating necessary disaggregated data that may be used for planning program implementation and impact monitoring at the local level while empowering communities to participate in the process. This is conducted every three years.
Through the roadshow, the core team expects to get a 100% response rate from all the target respondents.
The team appealed for the support of the local leaders and the residents to the project stressing on the relevance of CBMS on community development. They also distributed information, education and communication materials and CBMS merchandise.
Dalayday said CBMS core team is composed of PSA, Provincial and City Planning and Development Offices, the Department of the Interior and Local Government and the Department of information Technology and Communication for guidance.
Randolf Laderas of PSA said using the sampling method, the second batch of sample barangays will be in the municipalities of Pinukpuk, Rizal, and Tanudan in October.
Balbalan and Tinglayan have not signified yet their participation in this year’s CBMS.
Laderas said all the 14 barangays of the municipality of Pasil will be covered since the local government unit pledged to fund the conduct of CBMS in seven barangays while PSA is responsible on the other seven. (JDP/PAB-PIA CAR, Kalinga)
