Local foundation reaches out to more beneficiaries

BONTOC, Mountain Province (PIA)--The Maximo B. Dalog  Sr. Foundation, in partnership with the Office of the Congressman and the Children International Philippines Incorporated (CIPI), continues to strengthen its social programs to  help more people in the province.

Last August 13,   free wheelchairs were   distributed    to identified beneficiaries in the municipalities of Bontoc and Paracelis. Congressman Maximo Y. Dalog, Jr. personally attended the distribution in Bontoc.

“The free wheelchair program aims to give wheelchairs to those who need it with priority to those who cannot afford one,” said Atty. Cyphrine Y. Dalog.

There are around 40 beneficiaries of this program since its inception in 2016.

These wheelchairs were sourced out by CIPI from Free Wheelchair Mission, its partner organization, which designs and manufactures cost-efficient wheelchairs for persons with disabilities in developing nations.

The Maximo B. Dalog Sr. Foundation is a non-profit foundation organized by the family of the late governor and congressman Dalog to primarily extend financial assistance to indigent patients suffering from chronic diseases.

The Foundation which is now collaborating with the Office of Cong. Maximo  Dalog Jr.,    also extends social services through outreach programs in partnership with other registered organizations and government agencies. It also intends to grant scholarships to poor but deserving students in the tertiary level, aside from sponsoring educational and human resources training programs for youth development.

Just recently, the Foundation in partnership with the CIPI provided hand soaps for families affected in the sinking area in Sacasacan, Sadanga as well as for schools in the area as part of the proper washing of hand and hygiene promotion of the Philippine Red Cross Mountain Province Chapter.

The Foundation also continues to help dialysis patients of the province.  The Kataguan Run, Bike, Caravan Drive for Life it staged last year was able to raise P1, 400,000.00 for dialysis patients of Mountain Province needing help.

Those who need assistance from the foundation  may visit the Office of the Congressman located in 4th Floor,  Capitol Bldg., Poblacion, Bontoc and Dagawe, Poblacion, Paracelis; or the  Maximo B. Dalog Sr Foundation, Inc. located in Bila, Bauko, Mountian Province. (JDP/VJLT-PIA CAR, Mountain Province)
