ILOILO CITY (PIA) - - As of 11 p.m. of August 20, 2022, the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) 6 has released P21,376,000.00 in educational assistance to some 5,260 students in crisis in Western Visayas.

Data from DSWD 6 showed that 719 clients were served in Aklan with P2,671,000 of the total fund released; Antique, 613 beneficiaries with P2,263,000; Capiz, 957 clients were served with P4,700,000; Guimaras, 671 clients with P1,789,000; Iloilo, 1,713 clients with P7,750,000; and Negros Occidental, 587 clients with P2,203,000.

In a press report, DSWD 6 OIC Regional Director Delia Villa-Bagolcol said the educational assistance is intended for students who are in crisis to help them in their school expenses such as school supplies, school projects, allowance and other needs.
