Bacoor City, Cavite (PIA) – Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA) Cavite hosted a job facilitation activity dubbed “World Café of Opportunities (WCO) this August 22 to further operationalize the agency’s Job Linkaging and Networking Services (JoLINS).

The activity held at the Main Square Mall in Barangay Bayanan along Bacoor Boulevard gathered employers, public and private organizations, and TVET graduates with the aim of increasing the latter’s employment opportunities and served as a venue to exhibit various products of Bacooreños through trade fair.

Mayor Strike Revilla said that TESDA for choosing the city as the venue of the World Café of Opportunities is part of TESDA’s 28th year founding anniversary celebration. He added that in the past six years, the city has had 4,369 TESDA scholars in various courses through their City Livelihood Development Office.

Mayor Revilla also revealed that he had a meeting with online platform Shopee Philippines which will build their warehouse in the city with a capital of almost P 11 billion and the store will be needing more or less 3,000 employees.

Provincial Director Rosalinda B. Talavera on the other hand is optimistic that in today’s activity wherein 400 jobseekers are applying for various positions, she is hoping that twenty percent will be hired on the spot.

Director Talavera also thanked the private companies and other partner agencies who participated in the event.

The program is in support of the TESDA’s three-pronged direction toward poverty alleviation as embodied in the JoLINS which was institutionalized with the objective of helping TVET graduates/alumni in landing a job

The WCO is one of the highlights of a week-long celebration of TESDA’s 28th year anniversary in coordination with the Department of Labor and Employment and other NGAs, and the PESOs of the province. (RBF/PIA-Cavite)
