BAGUIO CITY (PIA) -- The Cordillera Regional Gender and Development Committee (RGADC) and the Philippine Commission on Women will conduct the 2022 GAD Focal Point System (GFPS) Assembly on September 27-28 in Baguio City.

With the theme “Catalyst of Gender Mainstreaming: Strengthening the GAD Focal Point System”  in the Cordillera Region, the activity aims to convene the GFPS of all government departments, local government units, and all other government instrumentalities in the region to inform and update them  of  their roles and responsibilities in advancing gender mainstreaming in their own organizations.

It also aims to orient and update the CAR-GFPS members on the use of the GFPS functionality tools, and to consult the members on issues and concerns in implementing GAD-related programs or services.

Pre-registration is on September 12-16 wherein participants have to pay P2, 000.00 registration fee.

Meanwhile, also discussed during the virtual RGADC 3rd Quarter Meeting on Aug.  23. was   update on the certificate of the first batch of CAR GAD Resource Pool wherein a ceremonial certification activity will be conducted.

The Committee also agreed to include People's Organization for Social Transformation, Igorota Global Organization Philippines, and the Igorota Foundation as representatives of civil society organizations who will join the oath taking ceremony on September 8.

Also initially discussed   is the 18-Day Campaign to End Violence Against Women and their Children which will run from November 25 to December 12. (JDP/DEG-PIA CAR)
