RSDC endorses resolution on Anti-Epal Campaign

BAGUIO CITY (PIA) -- The Regional Social Development Committee (RSDC) is set to endorse to the Cordillera Regional Development Council (RDC) a resolution enjoining support of government and private sector to the tripartite memorandum of agreement on   the Anti-Epal Campaign.

The RSDC members during their 3rd quarter meeting   on August 23, approved the endorsement of the resolution which aims to ensure the non-partisan implementation of the social protection services and programs in the Cordillera Administrative Region during regular and special elections.

The Joint MOA of the Department of Social Welfare and Development, Dept. of the Interior and Local Government and the Commission on Election signed on March 23, 2022, seeks   to ensure that all social protection programs during election campaign period are free from political influence and manipulation. This reinforces the campaign against politicians who claim that the accomplishment of public projects is due to their efforts and initiatives.

"There is a need for us to send this MOA to other stakeholders especially our government and private sector partners. Although tapos na 'yung May election, meron pa tayong mga darating na eleksyon," said RDC-CAR Vice Chairperson and NEDA Director Susan Sumbeling.

Also presented during the meeting were reports by the subcommittees (Regional Implementation and Coordination Team, Social Protection, Housing, and Education and Manpower Development), the successful conduct of the 35th Cordillera Month Celebration, and the Learning Poverty Data Report.
