Cavite to strengthen tourism workforce

TRECE MARTIRES, Cavite (PIA) – The Provincial Tourism and Cultural Affairs Office (PTCAO) in partnership with the Department of Tourism Region IV-A partnered in conducting the Tour Package Development Training for local travel agencies and tour operators on planning, developing, and marketing tour packages.

Participants were briefed by Dr. Reynaldo Jorda, DOT Master Trainer, at the Ceremonial Hall,  Cavite Provincial Capitol Building providing them with effective mechanisms in order to stay competitive in the market.

Dr. Jorda was quoted as saying, “Cheap things are never good, good things are never cheap,” thus reminding participants of the value of delivering service beyond clients’ expectations and creating more meaningful experiences.

A travel agency or tour operator deals with a variety of ‘tour packages,’ catering to the diverse needs of tourists such as adventure, beach, architecture, cultural, business, conference, incentive tours, incentive tour, special interest tours, heritage, monuments, wildlife lovers, etc.

The activity oriented the participants on the phases of the tour operations cycle and different marketing strategies. Towards the end of the program, the participants presented tour packages that they have thematically created for specific target markets.

In Cavite, three organizations of travel agencies and tour operators are recognized by the PTCAO and DOT IV-A namely, Cavite Travel and Tours Association (CTTA), National Association of Independent Travel Agencies (NAITAS)-Cavite, and Cavite Alliance of Independent Tour Operators (CAITO). These stakeholders remained resilient and continuously provide support to uplift the tourism industry. (RBF/PIA-Cavite with reports from Cavite Provincial Tourism Office Facebook Page)
