La Union school, ITRMC launch ‘Brigada Eskwela sa Pangkalusugan’

SAN FERNANDO CITY (PIA) -- The Lingsat Integrated School, in partnership with the Ilocos Training and Regional Medical Center (ITRMC) Center for Public Health and Primary Health Care, launched the Brigada Ekwela sa Pangkalusugan at the Lingsat Integrated School here on August 31.

The activity aims to continue to be committed in ensuring the safety, health, and well-being of the learners in preparation for a safe return to classes.

The Brigada Eskwela sa Pangkalusugan of the ITRMC, led by Dr. Marvin F. Munar, head of Public Health Unit, offers free medical services particularly medical and dental check-up, free vision test, and vaccination.

The Ilocos Training and Regional Medical Center (ITRMC) Center for Public Health and Primary Health Care conducts hands-only CPR demonstration for Grades 7, 8, and 11 as part of the Brigada Eskwela sa Pangkalusugan at the Lingsat Integrated School, San Fernando City, La Union on August 31.

In her message, Ms. Arlyn Bambico, school head of Lingsat Integrated School, said the institution will reach every learner in the community to be equipped with correct health information through the one-day activity.

“We must provide all learners, parents, and teachers with maximized opportunities to holistic school health services, through the leadership of our health personnel with the unwavering commitment of local government units and stakeholders,” said Bambico.

She also expressed gratitude to the ITRMC team for their untiring and selfless contribution to the success of the endeavor.

Moreover, lectures on health promotion for Grades 3 to 6 learners and hands-only CPR demonstration for Grades 7, 8, and 11 were included in the activity.

“Ang ating lectures ay para po sa ating health promotion, hinahanda natin ang ating mga estudyante sa minimum health protocol, leptospirosis, dengue, at iba’t iba pang mga sakit,” said Dr. Munar.

Further, the activity ended with the awarding of certificates of recognition to all medical doctors, clerks, and medical staff. (JCR/AMB/KJCR/PIA La Union)
