BALANGA CITY (PIA) -- Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) completed a covered court at barangay Culis in Hermosa, Bataan.
 
It was implemented by Bataan 1st District Engineering Office.
 
District Engineer Erlindo Flores Jr. said the P6.2 million infrastructure was built to provide a safe and secure space for the local community to conduct various activities and programs.
 
“The residents of barangay Culis benefit greatly from this project because they now have a venue for activities such as sports events, meetings, and healthcare missions,” Flores added.
 
The multipurpose facility can also be used as an evacuation center or as a staging area for barangay-based disaster response teams during emergencies.
 
For his part, Barangay Captain Federic Bernal expressed satisfaction with the completion of the covered court.
 
“Sa ngayon, sa nakikita ko po, isa na itong napakaganda at talagang modelo sa barangay ng Culis sa bayan ng Hermosa… lalong higit sa panahon ng kalamidad gagawin namin itong evacuation area,” the official shared.
 
The project was funded under the 2022 General Appropriations Act. (CLJD-PIA 3)
