SM City partners with local academes for learning opportunities

ZAMBOANGA CITY, Sept 15 (PIA) - The SM City Mindpro launched its partnership undertaking with local academes and universities in Zamboanga City that aims to provide more learning and job opportunities to students.

The partnership between SM City Mindpro and Ateneo De Zamboanga University (ADZU) was sealed through a ceremonial signing of the Memorandum of Agreement on September 13, 2022 at SM City Mindpro.

ADZU extends gratitude to SM City for the partnership as this will provide opportunities to their students, “A good education or good learning in any university require immersion in realities, immersion on business corporation,” ADZU President Fr. Karel San Juan SJ said.

The partnership will focus on the areas of recruitment for future job opportunity and learning development for ADZU students, the partnership will also strengthen SM City Mindpro’s internship programs by providing holistic and grounded experience for students in the field of management, finance and other relevant courses.

Hence, this program is not limited to private universities only but also public schools can be possible partners in harnessing local talents and to provide fast and efficient community development.

Aside from ADZU, Western Mindanao State University (WMSU) and Universidad de Zamboanga (UZ) are expected to join the same partnership with SM City Mindpro in the coming days.

SM City Mindpro is committed to provide more developments in the community as part of their advocacy to help communities be more equipped in the changing needs of the society.

“Through the spirit of mutualism, SM Supermalls and the university bring about an innovative learning approach through this formal academic partnership which aims to provide an opportunity for students to apply the theories they learned from the classroom to the workplace and broaden their knowledge through market exposure and practical experience,” shared SM Supermalls Assistant Vice President for Operations in Mindanao-2 Engr.
