TRECE MARTIRES CITY, Cavite, (PIA)-- Representatives from different departments of the Cavite Provincial Government participated in the 2022 Seal of Good Local Governance (SGLG) national and on-site validation recently conducted by the Department of the Local and Interior Government (DILG).
The activity was held at the Ceremonial Hall of the Provincial Capitol Building with Provincial Administrator for Community Affairs Head Mr. Alvin S. Mojica welcoming the DILG validators as well as the participants.
Cavite Governor Juanito Victor C. Remulla said in his message that, “SGLG is a means of validating Cavite province’s performance and commitment. It is also a measure of its performance in the past years and the years to come.”
Likewise, Vice Governor Athena Bryana Tolentino commented that such validations of governance would give greater impetus to local development thus, encouraging local communities to engage in and sustain capacity building towards excellence and local administration.
Mojica also disclosed that this was PGC’s first shot at a national validation and expressed his enthusiasm for achieving the recognition due to the hard work and dedication of all employees to attain the goal.
DILG-Cavite Provincial Director Lionel L. Dalope also expressed hope that the NAT validators would recognize the hard work and dedication of Caviteños in public service and the leadership of the governor.
The NAT assessment team reviewed and validated the documents in the ten governance areas which include Financial Administration, Disaster Preparedness, Social Protection and Sustainability, Health Compliance and Responsiveness, Sustainable Education, Peace and Order, Environmental Management, Tourism Heritage Development, Culture and the Arts, Youth Development, and Business-Friendliness and Competitiveness.
Focal persons for each governance area and onsite validation in some provincial government offices were also conducted. (RBF/PIA-Cavite with reports from PICAD)
